Has X Factor’s Frankie Cocozza got his eye on Janet Devlin?

X Factor’s bad boy Frankie Cocozza is rumoured to have a crush on fellow contestant Janet Devlin.

The ladies’ man, who is said to have been wooing other hopefuls during his time on the show, apparently has a weak spot for quiet and reserved 16-year-old Janet.
Frankie, who has gained a reputation for himself as a rebel after heading out partying time after time when he should be rehearsing, usually likes to play it cool, “but everyone can see he’s lovestruck”, a source told Now magazine.

According to the insider, Frankie also told Janet “she’s ‘marriage material’, which made her blush”.

But Janet already has a boyfriend and he recently revealed to Star magazine that he is backing his girlfriend all the way, so Frankie might face some competition there. Those looking at the X Factor odds should remember this.

He was rumoured to be seeing former contestant Amelia Lily earlier in the series, but those suggestions seem to have fizzled out now, despite him being spotted chatting to her after he got through in last week’s live finals show.

Since arriving on X Factor, Frankie has been linked with no fewer than three females in the show – Beccy at bootcamp, then later Amelia and controversial contestant Kitty Brucknell.

He is also said to have pulled a number of girls on a recent night out in London, with some tabloids suggesting this was as many as five!

The wannabe has made no secret of the fact he can’t decide whether he wants to be successful for his singing or other reasons and since his singing leaves a lot to be desired, it’s quite clear where he’s likely to succeed! People looking at the X Factor winner odds should remember this.

Who knows who Frankie’s next target in the X Factor house will be?

Jason still the Strictly top dog

Jason ‘the midwife’ Donovan (so called by Strictly judge Len Goodman because he ‘always delivers’) and his professional dancing partner (and boxer Joe Calzaghe’s other half after the pair got together following a previous series of the show) Kristina Rihanoff pulled off another fabulous performance on last week’s Strictly Come Dancing. People looking at the Strictly Come Dancing odds will have been impressed.

Strictly judges Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Alesha Dixon were loving the camp but convincing performance to the sounds of ‘I Will Survive’, so much so that the lovely Len was singing along with gusto. With three weeks at the top, how long can the dynamic duo retain their vice-like grip at the top of the Strictly leader board? And just what is their secret?

Well, to get into character before each performance, former soap star, pop star and musical star Mr Donavan has been seen by the studio audience making an array of weird and wonderful noises, squeals and shrieks. It might be strange but it certainly seems to work for him!

This week Jason and Kristina will be performing the Paso Doble to Queen’s ‘I Want It All’, a track which Kristina says sums up Jason and his perfectionist nature perfectly. We wonder if Brian May will be there to cheer his missus Anita Dobson on again, and whether he’ll be singing along or cringing with embarrassment? Those following the Strictly Come dancing winner odds should keep an eye out.

And of course, we can’t talk about Kristina and the Paso Doble without being reminded of the TV gold moment that was Kristina being dragged along the Strictly stage like a sack of spuds by former celebrity contestant (and Jo Brand’s twin brother), news bloke John Seargant. If Jason manages nothing else, he’ll certainly be an improvement on that.

Dell’Olio loving Strictly life

A self-promoter of the highest degree if ever we saw one, Nancy Dell’Olio is relishing being a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite coming across as madder than a big bag of mad badgers (that’s pretty darn mad. Not in an un-PC sense, you understand, but in a ‘ooh, she’s mad ‘er’ sense), and allegedly downing five cans of John Smiths bitter (or two glass of champagne, same diff) and a couple of scotch eggs (maybe) before being chased around the stage by Rob Brydon every week, Nancy has, to date, escaped being given the old heave ho by the good old British public. Those looking at the Strictly Come Dancing odds may wonder why though.

Now some might think that the public are voting for Rob Brydon (also known as Anton Du Beke) rather than Nancy, as she’s not previously been seen as an endearing character. But hey, what’s not to like? Rich, pretentious, superficial and frighteningly narcissistic, the self-proclaimed ‘Italian siren’ is a British institution in the making, or at least Nancy would like to think so.

Nancy also likes to think that people regularly mistake her for being 15 years old however (no, seriously. Fifteen . Years old, not decades.) so a lack of self belief clearly isn’t an problem for the former Sven snogger. The Strictly Come dancing winner odds still suggests she may struggle though.

And Nancy isn’t just eternally youthful, she’s also brilliant at dancing, despite all evidence to the contrary. Nancy spoke to The Guardian, saying “I think my dance was better than many others, I know I shouldn’t say that but it is”.

You’re completely right Nancy, you shouldn’t say that. Because it’s not true. Poor deluded Nancy. We can’t wait to see what utter rubbish she spouts next.

Grant refuses tight costumes

The latest news to come out of the festival of fancy outfits, oiled chests, backbiting and sparkly salsas that is Strictly Come Dancing 2011, is that ‘Astrologer to the Stars’ Russell Grant, is refusing to don sexy outfits for his performances.

Alas, those of us tuning in week after week in hope of seeing a glimpse of Russell’s left nipple, a peek of his right pectoral, or a look at either of his love handles, have been sorely disappointed to date, and if Russell has anything to do with it, this state of affairs won’t be changing any time soon.

Russell has reportedly revealed that, despite losing weight already during the show and having to have his trousers taken in five inches and his collar taken down three sizes, he won’t be going for any Brendan Cole style slashed-to-the-waist v necks in the foreseeable future. People looking at the Strictly Come Dancing odds will be wondering what sort of impact this will have.

The 60-year-old, who is partnered with professional dancer Flavia Cacace, has said that he won’t be flashing the flesh while he still has stones to shed. As Strictly Come Dancing tips go though, he doesn’t look the best.

What’s more, Russell’s not joining in with the fake tan gang. Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said: “All my costumes have been very much high-necked. I wear outfits like Maggie Smith in ¬Downton Abbey. While I’m dressed like the Dowager Duchess, we can leave it at make-up… forget the spray tans.”

So for now we’ll have to settle for the site of the other contestants’ cleavages, heavages, fake tans and false eye lashes, and be content with Russell’s flamboyant outfits and high-necked outfits.

X Factor rejects 2 Shoes to get role in TOWIE?

Former X Factor contestants 2 Shoes are reportedly set to star in another reality TV show – The Only Way is Essex.

The Essex girl duo, made up of Lucy Texeira and pregnant Charley Bird, were knocked out in the first week of the live finals of the show, after failing to impress mentor Tulisa Contostavlos with their rendition of Girls Aloud hit Something Kinda Ooooh.

But they’re ready to hit the small screen again and are said to be in “advanced talks” with bigwigs at TOWIE to bag a spot in the show. Those who have placed an X Factor bet won’t be too worried about this though.

According to The Mirror, they’ll be making an appearance in the second half of the current series, but they could well take on a permanent role in the next one.

A source told the newspaper: “Viewers didn’t get a chance to see their personalities shine – TOWIE will be the perfect platform for them to rectify this.”

In an interview with Digital Spy after leaving the show, the girls said they’d be keen to have their own chat show. Those following the X Factor betting may be surprised by this.

They said they’d want to do something similar to Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, or Badiel & Skinner Unplanned.

Something which allows it to just be the two of them talking on air is what they’re after, suggesting that a title like Talking Now! could be great.

But that might have to be put on the backburner for now, if sources are to be believed, as the girls are set to live the d-reem on TOWIE in the not-so-distant future. They’ve already been partying with the Essex crowd in London, so they’re bound to be well acquainted with some of the cast – including Lauren Goodger, Joey Essex and Lauren Pope.

If they do end up on the programme, they’re bound to add some humour to the reality show, so watch out for more details.

Ferguson wants Champions League response

Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping a wake-up call against Basel will inspire Manchester United to victory in a double-header against Otelul Galati.

The Scot raised complacency as an issue after the three-time winners were held to a surprise 3-3 draw against the Swiss minnows at Old Trafford and is concerned qualification from Group C could get messy unless his players find some form in Europe’s elite club competition. Those following the football betting online will be keeping a close eye on things.

The Basel stalemate came off the back of another draw against Benfica in Portugal and the Premier League champions must now get the ball rolling in back-to-back fixtures against the Romanian newcomers – starting at the National Stadium on Tuesday.

“I think we got complacent after going 2-0 up so early on and didn’t pay enough attention to defending,” said Ferguson, when asked about the Basel game. “But we rescued it, which was important.

“Maybe it was the best thing that could happen as we got a wake-up call but still salvaged something. We need to win both games [against Galati] and hopefully we’ll do that. And we’ll hope for one of two things from the other teams – either they both draw or one wins both games. We don’t want them to win a game each as the group would then be very tight.”

Ferguson admitted he did not even know where Otelul Galati were from when the draw was made but has done his homework to ensure there is no banana skin in the offing and is confident United will made the knockout stages. Fans have seen Man United bowling over plenty of lesser opponents this season, and they will be expecting more of the same.

Only then will he turn his full attention to next Sunday and the highly-anticipated Manchester derby against neighbours and league leaders City at Old Trafford.
He added: “It’s still in our hands and we’re capable of winning the matches. We have to win these two games as we’ve only got two points while Benfica and Basel are on four.

“I will have one eye on City but the thing is we’ve got five days before the derby game so we’ll be prepared for Sunday quite easily.”

Augusto misses Champions League matches

Brazil playmaker Renato Augusto will miss the Champions League match-day three visit of Valencia on October 19 because of a knee injury, Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed.

The Bundesliga title-chasers have revealed the 23-year-old will undergo surgery this week under the supervision of the Brazil team doctor, Jose Luiz Runco, in Rio de Janeiro before returning to the BayArena to continue his rehabilitation.

Leverkusen have said they expect the former Flamengo favourite will be missing for “several weeks”, meaning he will not be available for the Group E visit of Los Che later this month and the return fixture in Spain on November 1.

His absence could be a huge blow for the side who are looking to escape from a tricky group which contains Chelsea, Valencia and Genk. The Champions League betting shows they could struggle against their Spanish rivals.

The side currently sit in second place on three points having won one and lost one in their opening two fixtures.

Renato Augusto is the fourth Bayer player to undergo a knee operation this season after Rene Adler, Tranquillo Barnetta and Michael Ortega. Fans of Premier League betting will also have noted that knee injuries seem increasingly common in England.

Last season’s Bundesliga runners-up have not won any of their last seven encounters against La Liga opponents but entertain Valencia off the back of a home win against KRC Genk on match-day two.

Unai Emery’s men opened their Champions League account with a goalless draw at Genk and then rescued a point at home to Chelsea thanks to a Roberto Soldado penalty.
